The Denver area, was originally part of the
Territory of Kansas. "Denver City" was founded as a mining and supply settlement
in November 1858. The Colorado Territory was created on Feb. 28, 1861, and
Denver City was incorporated. Denver City became the territorial capital. Denver
City shortened its name to just Denver.

Wherever you look in our region adventure
awaits. Visit any of the hundreds of museums and galleries that make our city
the Arts Capital of the West. Indulge your inner shopper or foodie, then spend a
blissful afternoon at a spa. Bike paths throughout the city are a great way to
explore major attractions or escape for a day-trip into majestic Rockies.
Denver has the nation's largest city park system and 850 miles of urban trails.
There are dude ranches and fly-fishing for outdoor enthusiasts and whitewater
kayaking or rafting. Take in the sights from above on a balloon or helicopter
tour, or on the ground with horseback riding or an off road adventure. The Rocky
Mountains are 20 minutes away, where hiking, snowboarding and more await. The
Mile High City is also home to no less than eight pro sports teams, Baseball,
basketball, football, hockey, lacrosse, rugby - we've got it all.
Today, you can experience our thriving art scene
at local galleries, dozens of public Broadway theater, opera, ballet and the
symphony.

the Mile-High City. There is so much to do and see in this gorgeous region of
the country. Stop by our United Country office and see what Colorado has to
